A Bit of Good News

In the midst of this pandemic, there seems to be a lot of bad news. One of the things I’ve observed though, during tough times, there are always good people doing great things. This last week, the Scottsdale Charros and the Scottsdale Firefighters are donating money to Scottsdale Community Partnersto make sure those Scottsdale families in need receive food during this time. Additionally,  Rotary Club of Scottsdale (for which I am a 30 year member), is donating $10,000 to Vista del Camino, a Scottsdale Community Partner.  This is supporting four primary populations living in poverty within our city:  youth, families, disabled adults and seniors. Per the Club's Vice President-Elect, Christopher West, "It is important to help those in need at this time. several members have made food donations to Vista Del Camino and assisted with the pickup and delivery of the donated goods.  The Club is searching for community matching gifts to augment this $10,000 donation.  If you can donate monies, call 480-945-6158.  To donate food and/or household goods, call Vista Del Camino at 480-312-2323.   I’m so thankful for organizations like the Charros, Scottsdale Firefighters and Rotary Club of Scottsdale for making sure that Scottsdale citizens are taken care of. There are so many stories like this that make me proud to be a citizen of Scottsdale. Other good news is that the Stimulus Deal - the federal CARES ACT - is about to pass through the House and we will get some relief. To see how much you may receive, check out this calculator here: Stimulus Calculator I’m proud of Scottsdale and thankful for all those citizens and organizations making a difference in peoples' lives. Please reach out if you need any help
