Scottsdale is a great city – and Virginia envisions making it even better by inviting more involvement from citizens whose diverse opinions and ideas will make Scottsdale stronger.
Updating the city’s General Plan is a priority. The process not only needs to be inclusive, it must reflect our core values and include a reasonable consensus of what we want our future to look like for generations.
As mayor, Virginia intends to initiate the “Urban Forest Project” to enhance our environment. Using trees adapted for our desert climate, the program will be a tree-planting project throughout our neighborhoods, parks and commercial areas that will provide more shade, reduce heat retention, keep our air cleaner and improve walkability.
